  I did not like the story of the falling girl.  I just keep wondering:  What happened to her at the end?  No one heard her land, and she would have bounced off an awning.  Who is stupid enough to jump off a balcony to get downstairs to a party anyway?!  Just take the stairs, or if you are too lazy the elevator for crying out loud.  Sure, there is the whole "It is really about one's life taking off" but if you do not read that far into it she seems pretty stupid.  And if she was going so slowly, why did no one try to catch her?
  The three stories form "The Singing Fish" were just...odd.  I mean the first thing you read when looking at the packet is a story of the narrator nailing his brother to a pole!  I liked the one about the mud, no clue how many times my brothers and I forgot about being muddy and walked inside only to be scolded for it.  The one about the moon and the Girl was also strange.
  I loved "The Fifth Story."  It was interesting to read her words and descriptions going from so simple and basic to so elaborate in just a few paragraphs.  What also made me laugh is that the packet says the story is from Brazil, where they have the world's largest cockroaches ( http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Giant_brazilian_cockroach_closeup_arp.jpg ).  If those were in her house, I can see why she so badly needed to kill them.

An Introduction

Hail fellows well met! My name is Meagan Wright.  I am a twenty-year-old college sophomore, studying secondary education and English.  Or in plain terms I am studying to be a high school English teacher.  My hope is actually to teach at my former high school, as crazy as that sounds.  My hometown is Belleville, MI.  Currently I live with my mom and two younger brothers, who are also my only siblings.  I am in a happy committed relationship with an awesome guy.  I happen to be a self-described nerd (though my family and friends remind me occassionally) who loves reading, biking, walking and photography.  I am taking this creative writing course because I took one in high school that I greatly enjoyed.  Plus hey, it is a gen ed.
